Hello, I am John Sackett, a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy supervisor, counsellor and psychotherapist running a private practice with my wife and partner Joy Wood in the Bournemouth area.
My interest in hypnotherapy was first ignited when my daughter sought treatment for her fear of spiders, I had tried, unsuccessfully to convince her that spiders were harmless for over twenty years and was astounded that someone could completely cure her in just 3 one hour sessions, I just had to learn more about it!
I had long believed in the healing power of the mind and when I started to study hypnotherapy, a lot of things seemed to fall into place. I was totally absorbed by the many different methods that can be used to treat such a wide variety of problems that could affect any one of us at some time in our lives.
After gaining my diploma it seemed a natural progression to study counselling as a way to further my knowledge and skills in this fascinating field and it soon became apparent that the two separate disciplines could be so much more effective when combined.
My background in the Ambulance Service has led to a special interest in pain management and how hypnotherapy can be used in tandem with medical treatment to help both sufferers and their carers to accept and take control of their situation and improve their quality of life.
